The Lumix S f1.8 series 18mm lens combines ultra-wide angle with compact form and outstanding image performance. The performance of the lens is fully on par with the rest of the f1.8 series, so you can continue to expect the same high quality even when changing lenses.The great aperture and short focal length give you an extremely versatile lens which works great for landscapes, astrophoto and architecture, types of photos that really benefit from the wide view.The minimum focusing distance is also very short, only 0.18m, so the lens also works great for really dramatic close-ups.Lens construction consists of 13 lens elements in 12 groups including three aspherical lenses, three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses, one UED (UltraExtra-LowDispersion) lens and one High-UHR -lens refractive index lens. The use of three aspherical lenses provides both high performance and beautiful bokeh.The three ED lenses effectively suppress chromatic aberration. It is suitable for many different situations such as landscape, astro and architectural photography and takes advantage of the ultra-wide angle of view.
